  • The role of the first aider
  • Communicating with a casualty
  • Contents of first aid kits
  • Recording of incidents and accidents
  • Assessing the situation and circumstances in order to act safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
  • Unconscious Casualty Management – child and adult
  • Cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) – child and adults
  • Choking – child and adults
  • Wounds or bleeding
  • Shock
  • Minor burns & scalds
  • Small splinters
  • Fractures

Duration: 1 day.

This covers certification, manuals, tea/coffee

Venue: Across the UK every week or at your premises.

Objectives: This course is designed to enable the successful candidate to assess children’s first aid.

The course is in line with the current First Aid Approvals and Monitoring Section, of the HSE, guidelines.

Over the course students will cover elements of Paediatric training, to provide a good grounding in the subject matter, over and above that taught on normal courses. In addition, students will receive training and advice in delivering First Aid effectively.

On successful completion students will be qualified to administer basic Paediatric First Aid in accordance with HSE guidelines.
